CICAR received the FIJET Award for the Best Transport Company operating in Spain in 2024. The award was granted by the Spanish Federation of Tourism Journalists, part of the International Federation for Journalists and Travel Writers, and was presented to CICAR at the International Tourism Trade Fair, FITUR, which was held in Madrid.
The President of the Spanish Federation of Tourism Journalists, Miguel Ángel González Suárez, presented the award to Mamerto Cabrera Cabrera, CEO of CICAR. The FIJET Awards recognise and pay tribute to entities, organisations, projects and destinations in the field of tourism, valuing excellence in the management of the different stakeholders, as well as the promotion of tourism.
The edition of the Atlantic Leadership Awards which recognises those people who stood out in 2023 for their excellence, creativity, solidarity and management skills.
Mamerto Cabrera Cabrera, CEO of Canary Islands Car, CICAR, received the Atlantic Leadership Award in the Business category, which was presented to him by the President of the Regional Government of the Canary Islands, Fernando Clavijo.
Cicar was awarded the Canary Island Gold Medal 2014 - the highest distinction awarded by the Regional Government of the Canary Islands - in recognition of its outstanding work in the best interests of Canary Island society. The Cabrera Medina Group recalled the founder of the business group, Mamerto Cabrera.
This award recognises the tenacious and outstandingly hard work of the entire family and everyone else who forms part of the group, who, together with its customers and partner companies, represent the group’s most important assets.
The Cabrera Medina Group received the Best Family Business in the Canary Islands Award 2018 from the Canary Islands Family Business Association, presented on Thursday night by the President of the Regional Government of the Canary Islands at the headquarters of the Regional Presidency in Santa Cruz de Tenerife. Mamerto and Ángeles Cabrera Cabrera attended the ceremony to receive the award on behalf of the Lanzarote business group.
This award thus acknowledges the work begun by Mamerto Cabrera Medina with five rental cars and a small garage located in Calle Cuba in Arrecife, and which now has a fleet of some 12,000 vehicles and creates work for around 1,500 people. This fact sums up the striking and sound growth of the Cabrera Medina business group, which celebrated its 50anniversary in 2017.
The Cabrera Medina Group, to which CICAR, has obtained the first prize for the Best Network Expansion, granted by the Canary Islands Government and the Chambers of Commerce of this region.
The awards ceremony was held in the Assembly Room of the Chamber of Commerce in Santa Cruz de Tenerife, and was chaired by the Regional Minister of Employment, Industry and Commerce of the Canary Islands Government, Jorge Rodríguez Díaz, and the President of the Chamber of Commerce of the province of Santa Cruz de Tenerife, Ignacio González Martín.
The effort put into expansion within the Canary Islands is thus honoured with the awards from the First Edition of the Regionalization Prizes.
CICAR (Canary Islands Car, S.L.) has been awarded the Medal for Excellence in Tourism 2008 for its business activity by the Canary Islands Government. The event was held coinciding with the International Day of the Tourist, on 25th September 2008 on the island of Fuerteventura.
With this prize, the Canary Islands Government wishes to pay tribute to the company, CICAR, for its contribution to the development of tourism on Lanzarote and in the Canaries. The car hire company is present in each one of the islands, where it offers its services from a large number of offices including those in the Canarian airports and ports.
In this way, the Department of Tourism of the Canary Islands Government has decided to recognise the work and dedication of CICAR over its -year existence, during which time it has helped to convert the Canary Islands into one of the most important holiday destinations in the world.
On 27th September 2007 in the Chamber of the Lanzarote Island Government, the CABRERA MEDINA GROUP, received the 2007 Island of Lanzarote Prize, having been unanimously selected by the members of the Board made up of representatives of the seven Local Authorities on the Island of Lanzarote, the business sector and several professionals from the world of journalism.
The tourism councillor of the Lanzarote Island Government emphasised the career of the prize-winners of the Island of Lanzarote and “Distinguidos del Turismo” prizes at that edition.
